"Uncompahgre"
The beautiful Uncompahgre mountains on the Western Slope of Colorado are a paradise for adventurers: hikers, bikers, campers, and 4x4 enthusiasts alike. They get lost in the beauty of these winding canyon-lands. Sometimes literally, but usually not.

"Dawn In Ladder Canyon"
The trail to the Mica Mine is a favorite around the Western Slope. At about 3.4 miles round trip, this little hike is packed with beautiful rock formations and shiny, shattered quartz and mica that causes the trail to sparkle in the sun!

"Bighorn Mountains"
This piece was a bit of a hop-skip-and-jump up to Wyoming. I was excited to accept this commish from a friend who was kind enough to share some of the gorgeous pics of what she sees from her back door. What a lucky lady! I removed the town and roads in the foreground and replaced them with some more nature. ;)

"Wilson Arch"
Wilson Arch is an iconic landmark found along the road between Moab and Monticello, Utah. With most of the arches in this area being located in Arches National Park, it's nice to have this beauty right next to the road in the middle of adventure country. Any time of day, this is a wonder to behold!

"Morning Sun On Mt.Garfield"
They say you aren't a TRUE Grand Junction resident until you've hiked the (slightly sketchy) trail that leads to the top of Mt.Garfield. I'm not sure if I agree with that, but it really is an experience that will leave you a little breathless and grateful to be alive. :)

"Sunset On Cold Shivers"
On the Colorado National Monument, you'll find a plethora of spectacular views and memorable moments. Cold Shivers is an easy-to-access example of this, and it's one of my favorite spots to visit after a good rain. Thousands of little puddles mirror the beauty of the sky, and I feel like heaven is reaching down and touching the earth for a moment. It's pretty sweet!

"Above the Noise"
Rocky overlooks are a staple of Colorado
landscape, for sure! This lovely crag drops down into the chiseled creek far below.
The water has carved out deep potholes which are PERFECT for swimming. After I'm completely waterlogged, I love to sit in the sun in this spot and listed to my teen kiddos laughing below. Sometimes being above the noise is the best thing ever!

"Fruit & Wine Scenic Byway"
This piece captures a beautiful moment along the windy stretch of road that takes you from East Orchard Mesa to Palisade, Colorado. If you love fruit, or wine, or twisty drives, this is the road to take!

"Mt. Garfield Revealed"
Mt. Garfield is an iconic feature in and around Grand Junction, Colorado. It's known for its many colors and moods. There are often clouds that spill over the Bookcliffs, of which Mt. G is a part, and sometimes these clouds seem to cling to Mt. Garfield for awhile before finally moving on and dissipating. The effect is stunning!

"The Council"
These bighorn sheep love to hang around Colorado National Monument. You never know where exactly they'll pop up, which is another reason to take Rim Rock Drive pretty slowly! You see them here munching away together on Eagle's Wing, which is a beautiful trail that towers above Andy's Loop, a favorite biking trail near the Monument. You can see the clouds rolling over the Bookcliffs across the valley!

"Evening Stroll"
Hunters swarm the Grand Mesa around deer season, especially around the foothills. I saw these cuties moving through between campgrounds...not a care in the world! Like me, they must appreciate taking quiet walks in the evening sun, when the rim of the Grand Mesa seems bathed in a beautiful pink glow. It's magical!

"Lavender Fields Forever"
The Grand Mesa is the largest flat-top mountain in the world, and the Grand Valley welcomes numerous tourists for that fact alone. The Lavender Harvest in Palisade, Colorado brings a large influx of visitors, as well, which we love! My hope with this piece was to capture the sweet aura of the lavender fields under the Mesa to share with those who haven't had a chance to visit and to help those who have to remember the experience...it's pretty spectacular!
